When Grief Changes Your Vision: How Loss Leads Us to a New Path
Share
Editor’s note: This post is based on a talk I gave during a spiritual service on grief, healing, and our continued connection with loved ones in spirit.
I’m grateful for this moment. And I’m grateful for the life that led me here.
Not because it was easy, but because it taught me what truly matters: connection, love, and the courage to get back up when everything breaks.
So many of us know this feeling: “I don’t want anything to change. I want my hobbies, my trips, my work, my family. Just as it is.”
Yet we also know: life is never constant. It changes like the seasons. Sometimes slowly. And sometimes in one moment we can’t comprehend when someone we love passes to the spirit world, to heaven, whatever you choose to call it.
What Happens When Grief Changes Our Future?
Grief changes more than emotions. It changes routines, identity, relationships, and the vision we once had for our future.
Suddenly, rooms feel empty. The phone doesn’t ring. Questions stay unanswered.
When I was 11, my dad died suddenly. Less than a year later, my grandma. In that year, we lost our home, our joy, our reason to get up in the morning.
If I told you I had a formula back then, I would be lying.
Moving Through Grief, Not Around It
Healing means moving through every stage of grief: shock, sadness, anger, and forgiveness. No medium, no ritual, no technique can “remove” the pain for you. Support is sacred. But the path is yours.
Healing Is Not Going Back - It’s Becoming
At 17, I moved to a new city and studied fashion design. It was my dream. It connected me to my grandma, who taught me to sew when I was little.
That became my healing. I didn’t leave my loved ones behind. I didn’t just “move on.” I brought them with me. I gave them a place in my heart and in my future.
Healing is not about becoming the person you used to be. It is about discovering who you are becoming now.
When the Old Plan Dies, What Remains?
Four years ago, my grandpa died. He was my second dad. I thought I’d be better equipped this time. I wasn’t.
I wanted to quit my fashion design career. It wasn’t the same without showing him my work.
Then a local TV station reached out. They wanted to film my designs. I felt Grandpa had a hand in this.
I changed. I moved from sewing dresses to creating colorful prints. And I began sharing my mediumship ability to help people feel their loved ones again.
Working with grieving people and their loved ones in spirit worldwide, while using my designs to remind them of love and joy - that became my new healing.
Grief Changes the Vision - Use the Change for Good
Loss in any form, a person, a job, a relationship, changes the vision we had for our life.
What if we can use that change for good? For ourselves. And for others?
Your Personal Roadmap to Peace
I won’t promise you that everything will be fine tomorrow. But I will promise you this: You can make it through.
Ask yourself:
- What stays when the old vision no longer works? For me, it was design and this work of connection.
- What stays within you when the old version of you no longer serves? For me, it was my love for my family.
What Our Loved Ones in Spirit Always Tell Us

They are at peace and they are fine. And they want us to live our life. They are still part of the life we are creating now.
The greatest testament of love? To live a meaningful, happy life.
When we stay in suffering, we hold them back too.
This isn’t easy. It asks us to keep changing, to keep letting go, to keep forgiving, and to keep showing up for others and for ourselves.
Why I’m Grateful

I wouldn’t change my life. The pain and the love I’ve witnessed have shown me: Life bows to us when we get back up, once more.
And if no one has told you lately: Your loved ones in spirit are always with you. You carry that connection within you, every single day.
