Embrace Your Authentic Self & Step Into Your Power

Be Yourself Even If Not Everyone Understands It

One of the most freeing things I have ever learned is this:
You are not here to be liked by everyone.
You are not here to shrink yourself so other people feel comfortable.
And you are definitely not here to become smaller just because someone else cannot understand your depth, your dreams, your sensitivity, or your purpose.
For many years, I struggled with this myself.
As a teenager, I was often told I was “too serious,” “too wise,” or “too mature” for my age. I was mocked for caring deeply about school and eventually stopped sharing my grades because I learned that success sometimes makes other people uncomfortable.
But life had already shaped me differently.
When my Dad passed away when I was only 11 years old, childhood changed for me overnight.
Loss teaches responsibility early.
It teaches empathy.
It teaches awareness.
And sometimes, it makes you grow up much faster than everyone around you.
How Grief Shaped My Journey
After losing my Dad, my Mom and I helped care for my Grandpa throughout my teenage years. During that time, I developed a deep inner promise to myself:
Whatever I do in life, I want to do it well.
And if I am not good at something yet, I will keep practicing until I am.
I never wanted to create more sadness for the people I loved but relief and joy instead.
That mindset shaped everything that came later including my work ethic, my creativity, my mediumship, and my fashion design journey.
Most people around me did not know that my family and I had been traveling to London every year since I was 14 years old to attend spiritual churches, workshops, the Arthur Findlay College, and the Spiritualists' National Union.
Mediumship and spirituality became part of my healing journey long before I openly shared it publicly.
The Moment I Had to Choose
Years later, when I started offering mediumship readings professionally, I faced a decision:
Do I separate my fashion design work and my spiritual work?
Or do I allow myself to fully be seen?
For a while, I considered creating two separate websites.
One for fashion.
One for mediumship and spiritual mentoring.
But eventually, I realized something important:
They were never truly separate.
Both were born from healing.
Both helped me survive grief.
Both became ways of expressing emotion, identity, love, transformation, and hope.
So I chose authenticity.
I chose one website.
One story.
One fully expressed version of myself.
And honestly, it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Fashion Is More Than Fabric
Clothing is never “just clothing.”
What we wear tells a story.
Fashion is one of the most powerful forms of self-expression we have.
The colors we wear can influence emotion, confidence, and energy.
The fabrics we choose reflect our values and compassion.
Choosing eco-conscious materials like organic cotton or recycled fabrics can become an extension of the way we care for ourselves, others, animals, and the planet.
For me, fashion became healing.
After losing my Dad and Grandma at a young age, color and creativity brought light back into my world when almost nothing else could.
Fashion helped me reconnect with joy, especially since my Grandma had taught me how to sew and embroider.
It helped me reconnect with myself and my loved ones in spirit.
That is the heart behind everything I create today.
Purpose-driven fashion that tells a story without saying a word.
Healing Through Authenticity
I recently heard Jay Shetty, the life coach and former Hindu monk, say:
“Be an ocean if you are an ocean. Don’t become a pond because other people can’t swim.”
That quote stayed with me deeply.
Because so many people spend years shrinking themselves.
Trying to fit in.
Trying to be easier to understand.
Trying not to stand out.
But authenticity is freedom.
Pretending to be someone else is exhausting.
Being yourself attracts the right people, the right friendships, the right opportunities, the right community, and the right love.
Not everyone will resonate with you and that is okay.
In fact, it is healthy.
It means you are no longer abandoning yourself just to gain approval.
Every Experience Shapes You
Someone once told me that the key to his heart was a playlist where every song had a story behind it.
And maybe life is similar.
Every experience, the beautiful ones and the painful ones, becomes part of the playlist called you.
Every chapter shapes your perspective.
Every loss teaches something.
Every healing journey transforms you.
And maybe true self-acceptance means embracing every song on that playlist instead of trying to erase parts of yourself.
Because your story matters.
Your voice matters.
Your authenticity matters.
Step Into Your Power

No one is perfect.
Everyone is healing.
Everyone is growing.
Everyone is learning as they go.
But there comes a moment where we have to stop hiding who we are.
So today, ask yourself:
What are three things you can do today to step more fully into your power instead of dimming yourself?
Maybe it is:
- Wearing something that truly reflects who you are
- Speaking your truth honestly
- Starting the creative project you keep postponing
- Sharing your story
- Setting healthier boundaries
- Trusting your intuition
- Allowing yourself to be seen
Because the world does not need another copy.
It needs your authentic self.
