Ciel
The French word "ciel" means sky, making it the perfect name for this collection that deals with the sport Wingwalking.
WINGWALKING literally means walking on wings. It is an aerial artistic stunt on flying airplanes that started in the 1920s.
It is an unusual but equally popular sport for men and women.
The collection follows the idea of astronautics, the principle of seat belts and the subject of movement and dynamism.
Inspired by Eadweard Muybridge, a British photographer of the 19th century, who created photo arrangements of people and animals in action, I included cutting lines in the outfit that represent the movement. Accessory of the outfit is a backpack made out of seat belts.
With the original seat belts, I want to underline the importance of safety measures in this sport.
Behind the two "wings" of the dress are hidden two pockets. The sleeves are lengthened to the gloves. The waistband of the trousers and the stripes of the dresses have a width of 5.5 cm, according to the width of safety belts.
