animal communication mediumship

Grief is a deeply personal journey, and there is no right or wrong way to navigate it. You might find solace in visiting your loved ones' gravesite daily or weekly, or maybe you never want to go back. The truth is, your loved ones in spirit hold no expectations - what matters most is what brings you comfort and peace.

As an Evidential Medium, I have walked my own path of grief and discovered techniques that have helped me find healing and connection beyond the physical world. In this article, I want to share my personal approach to coping with loss, offering insights into how you can embrace your emotions while keeping the bond with your loved ones alive. Whether you are searching for signs from spirit, seeking guidance through a reading, or simply looking for ways to move forward with love, know that you are never truly alone.

Let me show you how I keep living alongside my loved ones in spirit.

1. Integrate Them into Your Daily Life: Keep Them in Your Thoughts

Imagine your loved ones receiving a little signal every time you think of them - see them smiling as they feel your love. What brings you joy brings them joy. They know when you think of them because we are all consciousness, and love transcends the physical world.

I personally go as far as wishing them good morning and good night. If I see something during the day that reminds me of them, I talk to them: "See that bird out there, Grandpa?" or "Oh, what a delicious tea - just like yours, Grandma!" These small moments keep me connected. Even when I leave the house, I say, "We’re heading out now." It’s my way of including them in my life.

2. Write Letters to Your Loved Ones: Express Your Feelings

Writing letters is a powerful way to process grief, express emotions, and communicate with your loved ones in spirit. Putting your thoughts on paper helps you reflect and release emotions. Maybe you have a burning question, an apology to make or just want to say what’s going on in your life.

I’ve done this since I was a teenager. I kept a special box for letters to my grandma, decorated with stickers, addressed directly to her. No one else was meant to see them - it was just between her and me. I wrote about my day, my struggles, when I missed her terribly, and when I needed her guidance. Nothing was off-limits.

3. Celebrate With Them: Honor Special Days and Memories

In my family, we continue to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries of loved ones in spirit. We bake cakes, choose gifts, and think of meaningful ways to honor them. If it’s my great-grandma’s birthday, we make her famous apple cake. For my beloved guinea pigs, a carrot cake. And my dad loved chocolate - so you can guess what we bake for him! Your loved ones still share in your joy. By celebrating their life, you keep their memory alive in a way that feels meaningful to you.

4. Honor Your Loved Ones in Ways That Feel Right

Many cultures have traditions for honoring the spirit world. In Europe, lighting candles in churches, cathedrals, cemeteries, or even at home is a way to pay tribute. I’ve done this for as long as I can remember. Even on a school trip to Berlin at 16, while my classmates went shopping, I asked a friend to join me in lighting a candle for my loved ones. For me, lighting a candle creates a beautiful moment for mindfulness and present moment awareness.

Another way to honor them is by displaying photographs - whether in collages, on a light string, in a locket, or even carrying a small picture as a talisman (an object believed to bring good luck) during exams or travel. These simple acts help keep their presence close.

5. Tell Their Story: Keep Their Legacy Alive

Sharing stories keeps their spirit alive for future generations. Talk about their wisdom, kindness, and the lessons they left behind. Reminisce about the moments that made you laugh, the advice they gave, or the special traditions they started. It’s not about living in the past but about keeping their memory woven into the present.

When I was about eight years old, I asked my Grandpa to bring out his typewriter, and I began continuing the family chronicle that my great-grandfather had once started. As Grandpa said, "Spoken words drift away in the wind, but written words last for half an eternity."

My writing has gaps, and it’s far from complete. Nowadays, we have computers and ancestry records, but this is my story - one that early on connected me to those who came before me.

6. Talk to Them and Receive Answers

Grief doesn’t mean losing connection. You can still talk to your loved ones in spirit and receive answers. Whether through meditation, signs, dreams, or even through a mediumship reading, their love and guidance continue beyond the physical world.

One of the most profound ways I’ve connected with my loved ones is through automatic writing. The first time I reconnected with my grandma, I quieted my mind through meditation, lit a candle, and asked her the burning questions that were on my heart. Then, I simply wrote down whatever came to me - without analyzing, filtering, or pausing. To my surprise, the words flowed effortlessly. Give it a try.

7. Moving Forward With Love

The beauty of healing is that there are no rules - you are allowed to heal in your own way. Your loved ones want you to find peace, joy, and purpose. They are with you, supporting you, and loving you always.

You are still here because you are meant to be. Your journey hasn’t ended, and neither has your bond with them. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting - it means carrying their love with you while moving forward without fear, regret, or pain.

If you ever seek a deeper connection, comfort, or validation from the spirit world, a mediumship reading can provide reassurance that your loved ones are still near. As an Evidential Medium, I help people experience the presence of their loved ones and receive messages filled with love, healing, and encouragement.

Remember, you are never alone. 💛
